Teaching Conferences

Teaching conferences are held daily Monday through Friday, and cover a variety of topics, generally scheduled so that each topic will be covered twice during the resident’s three years in the program. Residents must attend 80% of all conferences to be promoted to the next level of training. Conference is held at 12:30 to 1:30 PM daily.

Additional conferences are held weekly for residents on the family medicine service. These conferences provide the opportunity for case presentations and detailed discussions on some of the patients the resident may be following in the hospital. A high risk OB conference is sponsored weekly. Each hospital also has regularly occurring CME activities, such as grand rounds and tumor conference.
